Why are people proud to think this song is theirs?
Maybe some new material will be nice at p4k fest this summer. I definitely agree that a Battles progress report is much needed. I'd also like to see some updates on whats going on with Liars and Beach House!
All these -points are really hurting my feelings guys!!!
A list of best albums from the last 5 years is completely insignificant. Seems like someone's looking to make traffic for their site...check my blog instead! lol.
I just wrote about how everyones going overboard with lo-fi and noise on my blog. I dig Abe Vigoda, but there are so many crap lo-fi bands out right now. I guess there are tons of crap bands for even genre though. anyway if anyone wants to check out my blog its rebuilding-year.blogspot.com . I feel bad spamming like this but I only did it because my most recent post relates to Kane and Dustin G's comments. Anyway me and my friend started the blog to hopefully help out the Boston/Cambridge music scene so check if out if you're interested. We encourage commenting!
About time someone ripped on Kanye publicly. Too bad he still didn't get the part about stealing other peoples ideas... I'm sure Justice and Chairlift got a good laugh.
Yeah buddy, cause you know anything about me. I must be typical for having an opinion. I'm not the one with a name ripped from a hipster blog. But maybe you just didn't consider that I enjoy the conflict between the ambience and aggression on the A side of Cryptograms thats make the psych-pop B side feel so rewarding and deserved. Maybe I prefer the versions of Active and Calvary Scars recorded on Daytrotter in 07 to the disappointment of how they turned out of Microcastle. Maybe I don't like it when a band that I once idolized for their creativeness starts playing early 00s garage rock. Maybe I don't live in new york, don't have "indie friends", and don't care about my hipster status. Maybe you should analyze things a little deeper before attributing a personality to my comment. Maybe none of those things are true. What I can tell you is that you can't possibly get any more "typical indie" than claiming that you're not. chose your words Mr. Individual.
Crytograms- Perfect Microcastle- Decent but only because of Weird Era Post-Microcastle- AWFUL Pretty sure Deerhunter is on its way down the shitter. If only they could have stayed art damaged forever...
At the Middle East twice. Once the week before Random Spirit Lover and once again on their more recent tour. They debuted 4 new songs the last time I saw them, all of which were mind blowing. I'm really excited for the new record.
I have Load Blown and I can't really get into it. I find that Black Dice are a really hard band to enjoy but I appreciate their own original sound and style. Hearing this new track makes me happy that they refuse to conform for anyone. Black Dice don't seem like they plan on making a pop record any time soon which is nice because they're not alienating long term fans.
Yeah, I was at that Grizzly Bear show in Boston when those tracks were recorded... no big deal. Grizzly Bear only puts the best live shows I've ever seen. Not too many bands have all mastered their instruments as well as Grizzly Bear. I'd say Sunset Rubdown is the only other band that puts on a flawless performance every time. I'm ecstatic that both bands are putting out a new album in 09'. We're all lucky to be living in the musical renaissance that's taking place right now. More and more bands keep coming out with perfected unique sounds, we live in a great time.
Do people really like MPP? I can't get down with this Vampire Weekend bullshit. Just kidding, its pretty sweet. But lets hope something better comes out in 09 so its not a boring year. I have hopes for Dan Deacon, Atlas Sound, Wavves, and Grizzly Bear. But I really hope an incredible new artist come out of nowhere with the album of the year.
