Reminds me of this "feud " between Stars and Fucked Up over cancelling AZ dates over that immigration bill. I mean, I get why Wilco is cancelling the show, but it seems kinda silly and arbitrary when it affects your fans who just happen to live in a place, ya know?

Yeah, I mean this has pretty much always been between Mark Kozelek and the media. It started as a lark or at least seemed to be in jest. Once he got that feedback from the media, he thought he'd keep it going. That's how I read it.

Love this album a ton, so many great tracks on here. Anyone else hear a bit of How Soon is Now in that guitar in Continental Shelf? Can't just be me. And seriously March of Progress is such a fucking murderous song.

Oh man, I'm still only part way through my first listen, but man this is so so so good. I thought March of Progress was going to follow the Women formula of having an early album droning breather, but boy, what a fucking build that one is. Might even be the stand out for me. Pointless experience is also killer, same with pretty much any of the singles.

Is anyone else thinking that there might be a more complete version of this album? When I downloaded the Gov't Plates stems, each song came as two parts: (Vocals) and (Instrumentals). This album is not just called Fashion Week, it's called Fashion Week (Instrumentals), at least when I load it into iTunes.

I've heard them grouped together, but I really liked the TOPS album and not Alvvays. That said, both are not doing anything exceptional or new, its just good song craft and nice, inoffensive sounding music.

So far, I'm REALLY digging this album. I've never put Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti on a best of list, but this is immediately grabbing me. I'm really curious to read the personnel list on this, I can definitely hear John Maus in this (White freckles through Not Enough Violence). It could be their similar aesthetics, but I'm willing to bet John Maus has his prints on here somewhere. Super dense album, and probably going to be right near the top of the year end for me.

I'll admit that I'm completely unfamiliar with Beware of the Maniacs, I'll check it out. I do love Longform, the way that song kicks in is near perfect. I still listen to both Time to Die and Carrier, I think maybe for different reasons than Visiter and No Color, and less frequently.
