Video of Scharpling and Fucked Up covering Superchunk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4k0bwRUKNwA
When SNL hired Jay Pharoah, one of the first things I heard was how great his Obama impression was, so it makes total sense that they still have Armisen doing his garbage Obama impression.
SNL episodes are like Weezer albums. They're not that good, and people know the next one won't be that good either, but are still disappointed when it inevitably disappoints them (even though you EXPECT to be disappointed). Just enjoy the one or two decent sketches (or songs) in each mediocre episode (or album) and get on with life.

Pavement actually played "Unfair" on the show. "Stereo" was a web bonus.
Interesting. Though I liked Asthmatic Kitty more when they adopted the trailblazing critc-based price structure. http://asthmatickitty.com/news.php?newsID=372
"Just because he is funnier than Leno, doesn’t make him funny." True. Being funny makes him funny.
Why do these kids hate Ludacris so much?
Neither of which are superdrag, apparently.
This album is better than I expected. A pleasant surprise.
That's the Karate Kid's mom. Related: If Sterling wanted to get past Don and fight Pete, he should have gone with the crane kick.
Warren Cheswick. And you can shave my poodle.
I find Louie to be the most honestly thought-provoking show on TV right now. I tend to think of it as more of a drama costumed as a sitcom, and thus your assessment that it isn't funny isn't something I would necessarily disagree with. I honestly feel like Louis CK makes an effort to sacrifice laughs for elements of truth that aren't depicted elsewhere on television. The homophobic poker game, his fight with DiPaolo about Obama, Louie dealing with the heckler - they all confront the awkwardness and uncomfortable aspects of life in a way completely different from the "awkward" comedy of Curb Your Enthusiasm or The BBC Office. It's basically a series of dramatic vignettes surrounded by stand-up jokes, and every week when the credits run I always wish it lasted an hour instead of 30 minutes.
NOTE: Benji died on the way back to his home planet.
My favorite part of the video is Tom Green coming out (presumably to calm the masses?) and dancing, then realizing that garbage is being thrown at him, and leaving the stage like any normal person would do. A nice counter-balance from Tila Tequila's idea to actually take her top off in the same situation. Tom Green: Voice of reason!
"...the band’s show tomorrow on 8/5 at Madison Square Garden..." nope.
Kids aren't taught the difference between July and August until they turn 11.
Or you could just watch him on Parks and Rec like the rest of the cool kids have been doing.
"You were never supposed to hear these songs. That's why I put them on the front page of my website and sold them to be downloaded. Obviously." -Liz
Shouldn't last year have counted as Michael Emerson's year, since he....you know, won last year?
"There's an old saying in show business: The show must go wrong. Everything always goes wrong, and you just have to deal with it."
Did you just call me Coltrane?
It's just as much a leap to state that Jeremy London concocted (probably) an elaborate lie involving guns and crack because the person he bought drugs from/with was black, when a more likely scenario is that Jeremy London concocted (probably) an elaborate lie involving guns and crack because JEREMY LONDON IS A DRUG ADDICT, regardless of the race of whoever he bought drugs from.
Amanda Bynes endorses this.
I don't mind the volume of his tweets, but I don't understand why he tweets the same thing so many times. A couple days ago he brought up the "videogames as art" argument, which at this point he's been going on about for MONTHS. We get it, Rog. Can we move on now?
I missed the part of that story where you found out first hand that he was kind of a dick.
It's been widely reported that all the money from the tour was going directly to the writers/crew. http://marquee.blogs.cnn.com/2010/03/12/conan-obriens-tour-employs-former-tonight-show-crew/
Of course the fact that the library actually ASKED THEM TO DO IT takes some of the luster out of your last paragraph.
Blues Traveler AND Switchfoot at the same festival?! Sounds amazing.
The answer to this question asked in 2007 is still "No." http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_HxK8VXU8TWI/StVaK8KrozI/AAAAAAAAAPs/y64aAKNQk-Y/s1600-h/PASTECoverTheNational.jpg
It's actually the BEST Jaywalking I've ever seen.
After the first couple listens, I think it's far better than Stay Positive.
They rarely have bands back two years in a row, so I doubt that's Bon Iver on line 2. Hot Chip seems like a better bet.
1st band on 2nd line = Social Distortion.
I had the same frustration, so I just set a weekly manual recording to record each Thursday as an interrupted block from 7p-9:03p. That way you don't mess with overlaps between each show.
