I do have to give respect to Chris Wallace for knowing how to rest his case, but unfortunately what he rested his case upon was comparing viewers of a major news network to A FUCKING COMEDY SHOW.

I think my biggest complaint was just how I felt at the end of the film. I was thoroughly entertained, but I didn't feel anything beyond that. Had this just been any old summer blockbuster I would've been perfectly satisfied with that, but I think what a lot of people are feeling is that because it had been billed so heavily as Abrams's "Spielberg" film it came up short specifically because it was missing the human touch that Spielberg nailed so perfectly in those films we love.

Yay Kelly Reichardt! Took a few classes with her when I was at Bard, and she is just a really fascinating, genuine, and unpretentious person to talk to and learn from. I really enjoyed both Old Joy and Wendy and Lucy, and I REALLY am looking forward to this.

Also I'm pissed at the Grammys because they snubbed the only group I was really pulling for (Darcy James Argue's Secret Society) in the large jazz ensemble category (no joke, I'm a huge music nerd), but I don't expect anyone to share my anger for that.
It's times like these that remind me why I'm glad I do not come in contact with 99% of the population out there. I'll just stay in my bubble in which Arcade Fire is a household name and I can be utterly oblivious to the vast majority of acts that actually get recognized by the Grammys.

Nope, sorry, the movies are pretty great. I've heard that the books are ridiculously dense to the point of being nearly unreadable though, so I understand the hatred on that level.
