I don't know if I'm ready for that yet. I'm pretty well mannered and well spoken in what I write and cover, so it'd potentially embarrassing to relate my persona here to my more realistic version of me and how I carry myself.

I don't blame the writers here at 'Gum but I think their owners at Buzzmedia have a lot to do with the site not having that added witty, original or edgy personality as it used to. Remember when they'd just post funny stories about musicians that you couldn't read anywhere else, whether it be praising the band or not? Or how you could read a post and say "Oh this is definitely an Amrit post..." Now they mostly read the same like they've been straight off a press release. I'm just being honest, 'Gum...

- Touche Amore (gets absolutely no coverage here)
- Cerebral Ballzy (gets absolutely no coverage here, should be on this list in place of OFF! who were last year's token 80s hardcore-like band
- The Men (gets some coverage here but is missing on this list)
- Iceage (gets enough coverage here
- Thursday (still puts out great music, had a great album this year but they're not hip enough for sites like this)
This is what you call a booty banger, kids. To all the college readers out there, may this be a reminder that just because you call things of with him or her, it doesn't mean you need to stop hittin' it when the both of you got no one else around.
It's slightly above average but nothing to be gloating publicly about I agree. To play devils advocate to your comment though, most male adult film stars aren't as big as their bios say. The industry uses tricky camera angles to give the illusion the guy is huge when really most actors are not tall by any means (I read somewhere that 5'7" is the ideal height) which proportionately makes it appear that their endowment is larger.
Totally off topic but the last time I saw Wavves, there was this amazingly annoying couple who were not only talking during the whole show but were talking about TMI info. The guy kept asking her "Do you like my seven and a half inches? Do you like my seven and a half inches? Is it the biggest you've ever had?" Yeah bro you're cool.
They probably won't. You kind of have to do their work for them around here, so I'll take the opportunity to do so.

Disagree haterbro. These are mostly bands Stereogum has jocked in their Band to Watch series (which usually precede any coverage by Pitchfork.) As much as I bitch about their choice of coverage here, I'll at least give them credit for breaking wind on a lot of these young acts. (Still ticked about the inclusion of OFF and Weekend, though.. See comments below)
Doh! I got massively confused with The Weeknd (the r&B band) and Weekend, the shoegaze band. I meant the latter, the shoegaze band. Sports came out last year.
I just saw Mr. Dream was on last year's list: Tip to the editor's: Don't put bands on the list until they've actually released their debut full length or EP (Mr. Dream had nothing out in 2010. Oddly, the above mentioned OFF! and The Weeknd both did, but you put them on this year's list. MAKES NO SENSE, GUYS!)
OFF! was very much a last year band, as were The Weeknd (c'mon, 'Gum, I think you even posted updates on them and both of their albums came out last year.)
Who's missing: Cerebral Ballzy, The Men, Mr. Dream
This Progress Report could have been summed up in one or two sentences: "We'll be shelling out more pop punk give or take a few guest spots and keep doing that until the only thing that separates us between blink 182 are weed lyrics."
Honey, please. He's been doing that pretty consistently for the past several years (and when he's not Deerhunter, he's Atlas Sound.) Maybe I'm a little deaf in the ears but I can't recall a Deerhunter or Atlas Sound song that rips off Blitzkrieg Bop either. Let him have some fun, you fun killer.

I don't understand your train of thought. If they can post endless stories about Lama del Botox, then there's no reason for them not to be on the ball for all the above mentioned bands. What you're saying basically reasserts my point that they only post about bands when its "cool" or "hip" to.
Good job 'Gum on finally posting something I actually enjoy. Here's my issue though: The hipsterfication of hardcore. Where were you and the rest of these influential music blog sites a few years back to support them? Lemme guess... You're huge fans of Ceremony too? I love how its "okay" and "cool" to talk up bands like Trash Talk, Ceremony, Touche Amore, OFF!, Punch and so on like you've been fans of them since day one but really let's be honest: If it weren't for the fact that Matador (and in this case, its subsidiary True Panther) were snagging up Trash Talk and Ceremony on their roster due to the success of Fucked Up, you woudn't care to give them a listen and we wouldn't be having this conversation.
I'm glad this at least lets everyone know what my speed of music is more like and that I don't actually listen to Radiohead.
