Thought the exact same thing and came here to see that someone had beat me to it, again proving that one can't have an original thought on the Internet.
But hey, I love Vampy Weeks and I love Grimes...so, uh yeah, that song kills.
Eddie, completely disagree about "The Suburbs (continued)." That track holds the thesis statement of the entire album: "If I could have it back, all the time that we wasted, I'd only waste it again."
Chills. Every. Time.
I've waited 21 years for this album, MIchael. You can be sure that MBV are going to get 16 bucks from me as soon as their site works again. But at this very second? I just want to listen to this shit.
So for right now, all I can say to you:

Now that it's been three days, I guess I just should have told Kevin Shields this:

But seriously, Jesus rose from the dead in three days? We can't get a My Bloody Valentine album in 21+ years?
I'll believe it when I hear it this week. And even when/if I do hear it this week, I still probably won't believe it.
But for now, let me just say:

Still on a champagne hangover from last night and that pitch-shifting makes me want to smother an old lady in a nursing home just so someone can be put out of their misery.

Corban goes lukewarm on Coexist, but brands the new Ke$ha single "glorious." Are you guys just messing with us at this point?
Corban, I think you're missing something here. I think we're all missing something here. Maybe we need to accept the possibility of a record so excellent we don’t understand it yet.
(My apologies. I can't let Stereogum live that line down just yet.)
Gotta disagree. The Heart of the Nightlife always hinted at an unabashed pop song like this, but they never went all out. I dig it. It takes a lot to pull off a song like this without sounding cheesy. Also, you have to assume that this is just one taste of their new LP. I'm sure that those more ethereal and chill songs will be on there, too.
I'd have to say that these songs definitely sound cleaner. That's the only way I can describe it. But though I'm a little initially underwhelmed, I DO like the track, so maybe I should just be happy that Jamie xx didn't want to make a disco revival album.
I'm conflicted. While I dig the song, I also feel like it could be on their debut album. Between this track and "Angels," I've seen really no progression for Coexist. They've moved the vocals up in the mix, but that's about all I got. I guess I was hoping for a bit more.
Thanks, brah! I saw a golden opportunity with that first comment...
I've now made the Top 10 on Stereogum and the Top 5 on Videogum...do I get some sort of medal or something? I'm way too excited about this.
My reaction to everyone bitching at Rick around the fire at the end…especially Carol, who between her flower patch crying sessions and wailing about Sophia has no right to call out Rick:

Also: T-Dawg. You ALMOST had those white women with you on the way to the coast. I feel for you, bro.
I think Adam and Jamie would call this one "plausible," but really I have no idea. Just one of the many excellent .gifs that I've saved over the years.
