dude...she's an artist. she is in control of her art. if she wants to write songs that reference lolita she can write songs that reference lolita. her fans, whatever age they may be, can figure it out.
Guys where is the new Pavo Pavo album?!
ugh don't go see rhye live guys...it will utterly ruin the band for you. that first record is good but it is not in the same universe as anything sade has ever created. those who have seen them will know.
lol no, ayn rand has nothing to do with modernism, and could only be extremely loosely categorized as dystopian. more accurately rand's fiction is essentially mythologized and glorified wall street fiction, focused on captain's of industry and an elite of geniuses, at turns classically American, populist, aphoristic and pseudo-philosophical. The only common ground with modernism that I can think of is that she deploys some socio-political satire but only as a contrast to an incredibly serious self-espoused political philosophy. gross stuff.
damn, this was my song of the summer before this even happened. pretty righteous. though I am slightly bummed that frank left out the 'take it, take it, take it' bridge section, i think this is about as good a cover is possible of this song without reviving synth wizard Nkono Teles from beyond the grave. also very brave of the bass player to attempt that bass line on actual electric bass but he did gud.
Thank you for writing this Robin. I am waiting to listen to the album on vinyl but the solo versions of songs you played opening for Joanna moved me and inspired me in ways that music hasn't in a long time...I am writing songs now that are very much inspired by those songs....so thanks.
can someone do us a raptorjesus and give us a slimmed down version of this with just songs that go. can't really sift through all the mediocre rap and faux patois garbage. also when quavo comes in on portland it's like jesus drake you shoulda just left yourself off this one.
man, i am kind of a huge feist stan and have had to keep quite about it forever since metals came out and was slightly underwhelming but very underrated (only underwhelming because of the absurdly high bar set by her previous releases) but fuck this song rules. can't wait.
are you actually?! so funny, I think Methyl Ethyl are awesome but I frequently disagree with your opinions on here. it's all good tho. thanks for the jams.
the beginning was real good and serious buckingham vibes...then it turned into something i know will be pumped at urban outfitters for years
did anyone else feel like the studio gram thing was recent robin pecknold instagram parody loll
lot of haterade in this thread. the pitch shifting is actually amazing and reveals something new in dave's voice. I think this is also the most soulful he's ever sounded.
Yeah WTF music press, this shit sounds nutso and I have literally heard nothing of it until now.
the soundtrack and perhaps more importantly it's extremely popular with music blogs' core demographic = more clicks
fair enough on Electric Feel lyrics (though I like Frank's subtle changes to the melody more) but his Hotel California is some of his best songwriting period. Do yourself a favor and give it a try.
fuck i messed this up and upvoted yachtmaster and downvoted claus when I meant to do the opposite! I agree Yeezus keeps on sounding better and better and honestly more and more unique
^sorry that was meant as a general comment not a reply to u mr. meat. woe unto ye who hath not accepted apple as ur master.
Solo is the stand out for me. When the chorus comes in I literally said out loud "Jesus fucking christ" and almost started crying. I think it's one of his best songs ever, probably soty for me.
