So then I assume you guys have seen the fan scene by scene remake: http://vimeo.com/22179430 ? Because if you haven't seen this, then you should probably take a minute and watch at least a little bit of this.
Needs more whole grain fibers!
The conflict was that he was so handsome!
Agreed. Magnolia's a failure, but it's a magnificent one.
Exactly: spoilers are actual things w/r/t mysteries or dramas based around one piece of hidden information (Like for instance did you guys know that I am Keyser Soze?) but a romantic comedy? Not so much.
When Ron did that last night all I could think was: "The Parks and Rec people must know about Thursday Night TV Open Thread, because this is gif heaven"
Does it count if everyone on the newscast is clearly trying to become a viral video while advertising an obscene As Seen On Tv exercise product? These 'news''casters' are clearly all in on the joke, so is it a TWSS? I guess what I'm saying is: Fake and Gay
Justified, One viewer's experience: Season 1, ep 1-6: Hmm, this is a kinda weak premise but the dialogue is very solid, and I like Timothy Olyphant, and I'm unemployed, so what the hell, I'll stick with it. Season 1, ep 7-9: Wow, they've really changed the tone, and the dialogue's even better, and these characters are actually kinda great. I liked Walton Goggins in the Shield, but Boyd Crowter is the greatest. Season 1, ep 10-13: Oh my God, that is how you build and finish a fucking plot arc. This show rules Season 2, ep 1-2: Oh no! OH NO! What have they done with my lovely show? WHY? Season 2 ep 3-10: Oh, right, phew, this show is the greatest. Guess they were just doing that to capture a new, stupid audience? I'm just glad this show is back to being the tits. Season 2, ep 11-12: Best drama on TV, hands down (until Breaking Bad comes back on, at least). Season 2 ep 13: !!! !!! !!! !!! My only regret is I have to wait a year for more
Doesn't it annoy anyone else that a flat world is actually much larger than a round one? The whole point of the discovery of a spherical globe was like, oh, if we want to go to Japan from California, we don't have to go all the way over America and Europe and Asia, because the world is round, and thus smaller and easier to navigate! What I'm trying to say here is Thomas Friedman is a prick.
To Catch a Predotter
I heard Jean-Luc Godotter was available. And the WachowSea Otters haven't done anything exciting lately. I don't really care, as long as Sean Cottery stars.
Perhaps Ridley Scotter?
Principal, while I admire your commitment to the scientific method, "not taking itself as seriously" and "not being high on its own sense of existential importance" is the exact way that Garden State would express itself if it was made in 2009 instead of 2004. This is merely a more recent (and thus hipper) expression of the twee sensibility, and in ten years both the earnest shallows of Garden State and the ironic time-bended shallows of (500) days will look dated and terrible.
True story once upon a time I wanted to write movies (because I was in high school whaddyou want?) and I wrote this movie about an office drone milquetoast and the very first scene was him waking up in his room but everything was completely white and there was no decoration or anything and the sheets and the furniture anyway even me retardo Sofomore de High School thought: no way, that's too stupid and obvious. If you ever saw that in a movie, you would hate it! I, too, am excited for Garden State
Yeah, just like in my favorite movie. It's gonna be great.
Speaking of backpedalling (classic segue, right?) I just wanted everyone here to know that not only did I not watch the Oscars, but I didn't even read ANYTHING about them durn Acadummy Andworse except the entire Videogum open thread. Because when it comes to "news" about inane bullshut yo mouth! that really noone in the world should care about even a little, Monsters are my only trusted source of "information." In other words, I'm giving you guys ALL THE OSCARS (except the grouch. I'm keeping him)
Needs more Russel Brand!
I am with you That One (although we've already geeked out over Cemetery Man and other various weirdo-horror somewhere deep in the archives). I liked Splice. Yeah, it was duuuum, and Adrien Brody also. But man, the monster sex? When they just go for it? Full on NSFW monster sex? That is some straight traumatic oedipal imagery. By no means the scariest or best horror movie, but at least the most interesting since Drag Me to Hell (which I think may well be the best of last decade.)
