We posted its &#8220;<a href="/archives/mp3/new-birdmonster-born-to-be-your-man_010754.html">Born To Be Your Man</a>&#8221; at the beginning of July and here we have the video for another <em>Mountain</em>  track &#8220;The Iditarod.&#8221; We&#8217;re told the clip uses SLAM (aka Slide, Animation, Movies), a visual technique invented/coined by Greg Crane. The explanation:</p>
<blockquote><p>Not too different from your standard stop-motion animation, SLAM takes the aesthetics to a new arty level. 95% of the video was created using digital still photos from a professional/high-end camera. Approximately 1800 shots were painstakingly and meticulously pasted together to establish that &#8220;motion.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>Kind of like the technique used by <a href="/archives/video/new-polyphonic-spree-video-running-away_005531.html">Polyphonic Spree</a> and <a href="/archives/video/new-kaki-king-video-pull-me-out-alive_008426.html">Kaki King</a>, though their processes didn&#8217;t sound like a Chuck Palahniuk novel. They rode a wave of blogposts straight into some bloglash, and then they blogged until blog in a blog blog. Point is, they&#8217;re one of those bands (like old showmates Tapes &#8216;N Tapes and Clap Your Hands) whose bio&#8217;s been carved by the double edged sword of early and often internet attention, and here they are two years later with a new record (<em>From The Mountain To the Sea</em>) and a new label (The FADER Label) and a not Bon Jovi cover.<br />
