Tennessee’s Bonnaroo Festival, which comes to Manchester 6/7-10, just announced this year’s lineup on Spotify. This year, the headliners are Radiohead, the reunited Beach Boys, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Phish. The bill also features tons of other big names: Bon Iver, the Shins, Aziz Ansari, the Avett Brothers, Feist, the Roots, Black Star, Major Lazer, St. Vincent, tUnE-YarDs, Ben Folds Five, Ludacris, Flying Lotus, Little Dragon, Battles, Danny Brown, Bad Brains, Yelawolf, SBTRKT, the Black Lips, Kendrick Lamar, the Antlers, the Joy Formidable, Das Racist, Kurt Vile, Kathleen Edwards, Laura Marling, Mogwai, the War On Drugs, EMA, Here We Go Magic, White Denim, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. Also: Alice Cooper, which would be quite a thing to see.

Festival photography is generally delivered from the vantage of the photo pits, and so we did, but this year we decided to present a more unique perspective on Bonnaroo’s sights. With the help of Graeme Flegenheimer, we distributed Polaroid cameras amongst some charming artists and told them to shoot whatever they wanted. In the gallery above is what they gave us back: over 100 select shots, some with scrawled captions, so you can get a sense of what Bonnaroo’s stars were looking at when they weren’t onstage looking back at you. Eminem closed Bonnaroo’s 3rd day, which had kicked off with hip-hop heavy hitters Lil Wayne and Big Boi in the early hours and also hosted Wiz Khalifa in the late afternoon. Buffalo Springfield’s headline set on the Which Stage overlapped with Shady’s, making a joint cover of “He Got Game” an impossibility. Next time! The 10th annual ‘Roo is underway. Here are Randy Cremean’s great pics of some of the notable sets from the first two days of this year’s fest in beautiful, boiling Manchester, TN. Featuring Sleigh Bells, Lil Wayne, Twin Shadow, Big Boi, Wavves and Best Coast (aww), Karen Elson and Jack White (hmm), Jim James’ hair, and more.

Montreal’s Arcade Fire and Manchester’s Bonnaroo musical festival, two of the biggest success stories in the past decade of indie rock, crossed paths for the first time last night. The Canadian collective’s critical and commercial hit Album Of The Year The Suburbs dominated much of the set that began on the What Stage before midnight. Acknowledging the other anticipated Friday night headliners, Win Butler told the crowd, “Any festival where you can see My Morning Jacket and Lil Wayne is okay with me” and “we are very fucking happy to finally be here.” (Later he’d playfully call the crowd a “bunch of fucking hippies”). Per usual the performance kicked off with scenes from “Scenes From The Suburbs” and the potent one-two punch of “Ready To Start” > “Keep The Car Running,” and closed with the anthemic “Wake Up” and “Sprawl II.” Check out video from the show below and photos shot by Randy Cremean above.

Bonnaroo’s celebrating its 10th year of existence on June 9-12 at everyone’s favorite 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee. The “special, limited” pre-sales start on 11/26, the day after Thanksgiving, over at bonnaroo.com. They’ll also have VIP tickets for folks with golden ‘shrooms. The official Bonnaro 2011 line up will be announced in late January/early February. Will the Stones headline? More importantly, will you be stoned?
