Stereogum At Bonnaroo Pt. 1

Live from Manchester, Tennesse, it’s Friday afternoon. Thanks to the folks in the AT&T Blueroom, I can file a Day One ‘Roo report. Last night was slim pickings obviously — most of the notable bands that played will have other sets this weekend. But I did watch Matt Costa’s quintet maneuver from a Britpoppy “Yellow… More »

Bonnaroo Sold Out!

Last year at the ‘Roo, there was some mumbling in the press tent that attendance was down … that someone died … that flash floods were coming. Well, that was all true, but this year Manchester, TN is the place to be this weekend. The fest has now SOLD OUT. From their newsletter:There will be… More »

Bonnaroo 2006 Lineup Announced

Not a total departure from Roo’s hippie roots, but it’s nice to see Radiohead and Tom Petty headlining instead of Trey, Dave, and the ubiquitous Warren Haynes. This will be my third Bonnaroo; Stereogum’s highlights from last year’s fest here.

Bouncing Round The ‘Roo

Didja miss me? I tried to see as many Bonnaroo bands as possible. It’s hard ’cause they all play at the same time. Fortunately I ran into my friend Stacey who lemme hitch a ride on her golf cart a few times. The “flash floods” heading to Manchester never materialized, and Sunday wa… More »

One Week ‘Til Bonnaroo

Everyone’s making fun of me for going to Bonnaroo. It’s a “hippie festival” they say. Look at the line-up, though — there’s plenty of patchouli-free rawk!

Wanna meet up in Manchester? E-mail me.

Should I have a guest blogger while I’m gone? In case Federfetus grows a second head or something? More »

Anyone Been To Bonnaroo?

My coworkers are making fun of me ’cause it’s a hippie fest. But they’re wrong. There are some bands I’m really excited to see: Yo La Tengo, Grandaddy, Wilco, My Morning Jacket, David Byrne, Bob Dylan… If anyone has any helpful advice, like what to bring, what not to bring, when to arrive, etc… I’d… More »
