Today’s actor/rocker collab cover posts aren’t over just yet. Unlike a lot of his celeb peers, @rainnwilson‘s Twitter doesn’t focus on the fart sandwiches he eats or daily updates of his follower count. He’s self-promotional (soulpancake anybody?), yes, but also he demonstrates wit independent of his sitcom scripts, pretty great taste in music, and hints about covering songs with Rivers Cuomo. For his part, the Weezer man just uses his website to inform people about prospective Rainn collabs. The two met up to record a take on Joan Osbourne’s “One Of Us” to be premiered as part of a countdown/takeover show hosted by Jason Schwarzman on Sirius Satellite Radio’s Alt Nation station, kicking off tonight and extending into the weekend. Poor 50 Cent … Kanye’s on everybody’s minds and iPods these days: And when we say everybody, we also mean emo whipping boy Jared Leto. Recently, 30 Seconds To Mars got all Pink Floyd-y on Jo Whiley for a breathy, alt-snore take on “Stronger.” Maybe it’s not all that silly in theory, but you only need to get to Leto singing “you could be my black Kate Moss tonight” before eyes start rolling into your head. Take a listen at MySpace and make sure to have your hankies ready for the finale.

Normally we wait out the weekend before telling you if anything interesting happened on Saturday Night, but because tonight’s episode, hosted by Rainn Wilson, included an Office parody AND a Digital Short featuring an Arcade Fire cameo, we figured why wait.

In true rock-on-TV style, Win taped a message onto the face of his guitar. It appeared to read “SAK VID PA KANPE” which, if we know our Haitian proverbs (we don’t, but Wiki does), means: “An empty sack doesn’t stand up” — i.e., A hungry person cannot do anything. And then, in truer rock-on-TV style, Win smashed his acoustic to pieces at the end of “Intervention.”
