This is it, the final photo blowout from the inaugural All Points West fest. If you didn’t spend your weekend on the internet/in line for a ferry over to Liberty Park, you can see some photos from Friday, a new Grizzly song, a little bit on a band called Radiohead, and a report on what it was like to walk around and (wish that you could) drink some more. We spent more time getting there than we did actually there, so we’re gonna lean on the photos (and, you) to tell you the rest. Once again hat tip to Abbey Braden for the ace shots all weekend. The Tribeca Film Festival ended this weekend, and there was a lot of music-y stuff that went down before it did. The biggest news comes via the Julian Schnabel film Lou Reed’s Berlin. ThePlaylist saw it and said “If you don’t love Berlin the album (like know it front to back), this movie might not be for you, unless you’re a huge Lou Reed fan.” To celebrate/promote the pic, Lou & Julian did a Q&A that’s making some waves, for reasons including Reed dissing Lester Bangs. Which at this point is like Samuel Johnson dissing Alexander Pope. Excerpts, via Gothamist:

Reed: Julian knew the record better than me. He could recite this piece of music. And he asked me, “Why wouldn’t you want to do that?” And I said, “But I did to that.” And he said, “Well, that was then and now we’re over here.” So I said, “Okay, why not do that.”

Spotted: C in the back of his limo driving up and down Park Ave. Heard: “One Week Of Danger,” one of five songs by the Virgins featured in last night’s episode of Josh Schwartz’s CW soap Gossip Girl. Yes, star-making music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas has come through in a big way on her promise to feature some up-and-coming NYC rockers. We’ll spare you the plot summary, but know that Blair Waldorf’s 17th birthday featured sushi, plastic guitars, and drama. Here’s the opening scene with the aforementioned Virgins tune:

The band’s other songs in episode 8 (“Seventeen Candles”) — “Fernando Pando,” “Radio Christiane,” “Rich Girls” and “Love Is Colder Than Death” — make up the rest of their 07 EP. You can stream three of ‘em at MySpace and purchase at iTunes.

Meanwhile, a friend tells us that the Gossip Girl book series eventually had Chuck coming out of the closet and getting a pet monkey (really). So things are about to get interesting for Miss Waldorf.

Billboard reports the ears and mind behind Chop Shop Music Supervision (i.e. the firm that helped make The OC and Grey’s Anatomy de facto band launching pads)/new label owner has a new gig: soundtracking Gossip Girl, the upcoming CW series from The OC creator Joshua Schwartz. Just don’t expect to hear the characters partying to Animal Collective any time soon.

As with “The OC” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” and other shows on the CW, music will feature heavily into the lives and plot lines of the main characters. For instance, promo spots for “Gossip Girl”-viewable on the CW and the Internet-feature Fergie’s “Glamorous” and Aqualung’s “Something to Believe In.”

Patsavas says these two acts are representative of the show’s music. “What ‘The OC’ did for indie rock, we’d like ‘Gossip Girl’ to do for pop,” she says. The pilot episode of “Gossip Girl” spotlights music by Rihanna, the Mooney Suzuki, Hanson, Amy Winehouse, Angels & Airwaves and others.

Probably won’t make much of a dent in your downloading queue.
