Does it work? Well, the Smiths’ original’s such a great song it’s nice to hear it again, but Weiland doesn’t add much beyond a cheesy alterna breakdown toward to the end. He is good at alterna breakdowns.
Fair enough, we didn’t have a blog during the height of the grunge era, but he has been in the news: After Weiland’s onstage antics and subsequent firing from Velvet Revolver, he performed his first STP show in ages, kick-starting their summer tour. You can’t keep a multi-tasking ex-junkie down, so of course he has other plans, too. For starters, as Billboard reported last week, he’s recording a solo double album with Steve Albini, and plans to release it in November. Now Weiland’s blogged about that, as well as a forthcoming autobiography.
