Suede were a ripsnorting and hyped-into-infinity British glam-rock band who inadvertently birthed Britpop, at least in their homeland’s popular imagination, around the time they released their excellent self-titled debut album nearly two decades ago. The band kept releasing interesting and varied albums until 2002’s relative dud A New Morning, upon which time they broke up. But they got back together to play shows in 2010, and now their new album Bloodsports looms. On the album, their celestial cocaine-rock swagger remains startlingly undiminished, and frontman Brett Anderson still has falsetto-laced hooks for days, even if it’s a shame that genius original guitarist Bernard Butler still isn’t back in the band. We’ve already posted the Bloodsports single “Barriers,” as well as the video for “It Starts And Ends With You,” and now the whole album is streaming below.
Bloodsports is out 3/18 on Warner.
