The Oakland rapper Shady Blaze, a frequent Main Attrakionz collaborator and two-time Mixtape Of The Week honoree, suffered an unspeakable loss when his son R.J. died at just a few weeks of age. “Rest In Peace R.J.,” Shady’s song about watching his baby die, is the first thing he’s recorded since the experience, and it’s a raw, gut-ripping thing that spares no details. He’s uploaded it to YouTube, pairing it with images and videos of the little guy. Watching the video and listening to the song are tough things to put yourself through early on a Monday morning, but it’s worth it. The song is below.
Condolences to the family. What an awful thing.
