Himanshu Suri is gearing up for the second commercial release from his label Greedhead — its first since Das Racist’s Relax in 2011 — and it comes from BTW alumnus SAFE. On 4/16, he’ll drop a 7″ of new track “Normal Needs.” SAFE is no stranger to the analog arts. His self-titled EP was released via cassette with an accompanying VHS, but a re-mastered version will be available with the “Normal Needs” vinyl in a few weeks. The iTunes edition will feature a bonus track “Treason,” for which there is an accompanying video directed by Jazmin Garcia. We know SAFE to be a goat-enthusiast, but, unfortunately, none appear in the clip. It plays like a Guess? Jeans commercial from the 90s, mostly in black-and-white, with a subdued sexiness (but everyone is of-age!) and high-waisted acid wash denim. Stream “Normal Needs” and watch the video for “Treason” below.
“Normal Needs” 7″ and the remastered SAFE EP are out 4/16 via Greedhead.
