The blood-red curtains and candlelight ambiance of Apogee’s Berkeley Street Studio provided the perfect atmosphere for Queens Of The Stone Age to record a live session for KCRW that will air on June 11. Having recently unveiled most of …Like Clockwork  at the Wiltern, their album hits the streets today. Queens Of The Stone Age played at an arena-sized volume level; you could hear every drum smash by Jon Theodore without the aid of the microphones above his kit. Josh Homme’s interview with KCRW Music Director Jason Bentley was quite entertaining, as Homme explained some details about making the new record, other failed band names, and how he just calls up his friends “Dave” (Grohl) and “Trent” (Reznor) to come hang out and make some music.
