Atmospheric pop-experimentalist Julian Lynch has been known to put out some … experimental music videos (here’s looking at you, “decrepit stuffed rabbit doll”). His latest, though, seems to be an experiment in cuteness. In the clip for “Northside,” a lazy, flowering acoustic arrangement from Lynch’s latest album Lines, various puppies hang their heads mystically out of a car window: as they cruise slowly through a summery town, their distant gazes highlight both the simplicity and the melancholy of suburban living. My favorite is the fuzzy brown guy at 1:03. Watch it now.
Lines is out now on Underwater Peoples.
