Sylvan Esso, a collaboration project between Mountain Man’s Amelia Meath and Megafaun’s Nick Sanborn, dropped “Play It Right” today — the lead track from the second A side of their upcoming “2 A side” 12″, Hey Mami/ Play It Right. The song is off-kilter and unpredictable, melodically and rhythmically, and really showcases the sonic union of these two artists: The blend of Meath’s earthy, irrepressible croon and Sanborn’s synth bass-heavy dance production is remarkably distinct, and very engaging.
