Peter Gabriel - And I'll Scratch Yours

A while after we’d given up any hope of hearing it, Peter Gabriel is getting ready to release And I’ll Scratch Yours, the album of artists like Arcade Fire and Bon Iver covering his songs. (It follows Scratch My Back, the 2010 album on which Gabriel covered many of those very same artists’ songs.) We’ve already heard, in whole or in part, many of the songs that will make it onto And I’ll Scratch Yours. And now there’s an eight-minute preview of the album on YouTube, which means we finally get to hear bits of the songs we have not yet heard: Feist and Timber Timbre doing “Don’t Give Up,” Regina Spektor covering “Blood Of Eden,” Randy Newman (in a possible display of passive aggression) honking his way through “Big Time,” and, most intriguingly, Brian Eno offering a weird-as-fuck take on “Mother Of Violence.” Hear the full album preview below.

And I’ll Scratch Yours is out 9/23 on Real World.
