Star Slinger is probably better known for his remixes, and the way he can rip a song apart while keeping its spirit completely intact. His Miguel remix earlier this year did that just fine, but now he’s got an original out titled “Free.” So it’s not a remix, but don’t worry, there are still plenty of whipped up samples and tweaked vocals to be had, plus that moment at 0:52 when everything gels and the beat kicks in is worth admission alone. Slinger, whose real name is Darren Williams, put this up with the note “new taste from the new album,” so look for this soon.
