When they’re on American late-night shows, MGMT tend to crank up the weirdness. But on the most recent episode of the BBC’s Later… With Jools Holland, the band played “Your Life Is A Lie,” from their new self-titled album, and played it relatively straight. The one freaky piece of stagecraft is probably what Andrew VanWyngarden is wearing; he looks like a sci-fi cult leader. But then, that could well be what he throws on after rolling out of bed.
