Back in September, the Swedish dream-pop duo Korallreven released their song “Try Anything Once” featuring vocal tracks by the Japanese recording artist Cornelius (aka Keigo Oyamada). The song was one of several follow-ups from their 2011 LP An Album By Korallreven — since then, they have collaborated with Julianna Barwick and their tracks have inspired a couple of remixes by notable producers. Joel Ford — bka Ford & Lopatin, formerly Games — has been producing under the name Airbird for a couple of years now, and the last we heard from him was in 2012 during the release of his Romance Layers EP. Airbird’s remix of “Try Anything Once” maintains the track’s plucky, supernatural aesthetic while simultaneously painting it in darker vocal samples. It’s a shimmering, just barely four-minute-long dance track that stretches out time. Listen below.
