Karen O Will Perform At The Oscars (UPDATE: With Ezra Koenig)

UPDATE: AP’s report from Oscar rehearsals suggests that Ezra Koenig will perform with Karen O at the ceremony:

Accompanied by Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig on acoustic guitar, O sang the song again and again, sitting on a corner of the stage in a long floral dress, leather motorcycle jacket and killer blue boots.

Listen to O and Koenig’s duet of “The Moon Song” here.

Karen O, Spike Jonze, and production designer KK Barrett stopped by the KCRW studio to perform “The Moon Song,” the Oscar-nominated song written by O and Jonze for the latter’s Best Picture-contending film, Her. You can watch the video below, and you can see O perform the song live during the Academy Awards ceremony on March 2 (U2 and Pharrell Williams will also be performing their respective nominated songs, “Ordinary Love” from Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom and “Happy” from Despicable Me 2). “The Moon Song” will also be performed at the just-announced and first-ever Oscar Concert, which will feature all of the nominated songs as well as orchestral medleys of the nominated scores, including the one for Her by Owen Pallett and Arcade Fire’s Will Butler.
