Holychild – “Every Time I Fall” (Stereogum Premiere)

Holychild is Liz Nistico and Louie Diller, a pair of forward-thinking pop musicians who met when Diller was a guest musician at Nistico’s dance class at George Washington University. Since forming in 2011, the duo has transitioned from D.C. to L.A., built up buzz around town, stormed New York’s CMJ Music Marathon and signed to indie heavyweight Glassnote (Phoenix, Chvrches, Childish Gambino, Mumford & Sons). Next month, their first EP for the label arrives. It’s called Mindspeak, and today they’re unveiling lead single “Every Time I Fall.” In keeping with holychild’s M.O., the track sounds huge and feels buoyant — imagine Phantogram on vacation somewhere tropical or Sleigh Bells filling up all that empty space in the mix with rich arrangements. Check it out below.

Mindspeak is out 3/4 via Glassnote.
