Watch 50 Cent’s Horrendous Ceremonial First Pitch For The Mets

50 Cent comes from Jamaica, Queens, not far from the Mets’ Citi Field. Yesterday, he threw out the first pitch at a Mets game, and this could’ve been an ideal opportunity for him to show some home-borough pride. Things didn’t quite work out that way. 50’s pitch barely landed within the same area code as the catcher, and it made me wonder if, on some level, he was trying to throw it as badly as he possibly could. The pitch is all over the place this morning — it’s airing on Sportscenter on the TV behind me as I type this — and 50 will be answering snarky questions about it for a long time to come. (Also embarrassing: The sportscasters who are still calling him “50 Cents.”) Before the game was even over, he got on Instagram to snarl at everyone who was talking about it. Watch the fateful pitch and 50’s Instagram response below.

In less crushingly humiliating 50 Cent news, my friend Zach Baron just spent a month with 50 as his life coach, and the GQ article he wrote about his experience is the best thing you will read all day.
