SLAVVE – “Out Of Mind” (Stereogum Premiere)

SLAVVE began in West Palm Beach as the solo recording project of Chuka Chukuma, who recruited ex-Weird Wives/Surfer Blood drummer Marcos Marchesani last summer to bring the band to life. The duo has since relocated to Brooklyn and signed with new Portland label Bloodmoss with a self-titled EP coming later this month. EP track “Out Of Mind” demonstrates SLAVVE’s potent hybrid of gleaming post-hardcore, jagged post-punk, and gruesome garage-punk. Lyrically, it’s a study in futility, but the music confidently asserts this band’s ability to mow you down. Listen below.

SLAVVE is out 6/24 on Bloodmoss. Check out another track from the EP, “Pity Party,” at Bandcamp.
