Black Bananas’ “Physical Emotions” was such a feelgood jam, only made more so by its absurd drug trip of a video. With their new remix of the song, Liars keep the party vibes strong while diving into the weird end of dance music (as they also do on their new album, Mess). They tighten up the rhythms here so it’s still something you’d want to move to, but with an overload of grimy synths and strange percussive beats. It’s a nice response after Black Bananas took Liars’ “Mess On A Mission” and scrambled it up even more, and a good indicator that these are musicians having a ton of fun making some of the most gleefully strange music of their careers.
