Kendal Johansson is a Swedish artist, newly signed to the Sincerely Yours roster and probably best-known for covering Big Star’s “Blue Moon.” Johansson’s new single is called “Courtesy Lafs,” and it is a fascinating mess, all giddy and bright-colored globs of sound melted together into a precarious pop-sculpture. It’s the closest I’ve ever heard a Swede come to sounding like Mr. Bungle. Listen below.
