Majical Cloudz are currently poised for exposure to a massive new audience now that they’re going to open for Lorde on her North American tour. The group’s first release since that news certainly says something about how to handle that exposure when you’re a duo that works best in intimate stillness and searing emotional catharsis. They’ve taken their post-Impersonator single “Savage” and allowed noise-god Tim Hecker to remix it. It’s a sign that Majical Cloudz won’t be softening their style for the bigger audience, as Hecker’s remix burns the already painful original down and paints a pretty picture with the ashes.
