Edmonton, Alberta-based Creaks make melodic and airy dream pop. It’s nothing you haven’t heard before, but that’s a good thing because it gives the band a lot of wiggle room to mess around with. “Daydream” is marked by little squeals and shouts that are always played down in the mix, but threaten to brim over the surface. It’s slightly out of tune and a little bit out of reach, but the song has a quality that hints that there’s more than meets the eye and that the four-piece has their ambitions set on a higher place. The “Daydream” single is out 11/7 and is being self-released.
