A few weeks ago, our own Chris DeVille used his Week In Pop column to look at Clean Bandit, the British quartet who combined poppy EDM with classical and scored a sort of novelty hit in the process. And now DJ Mustard, the dominant West Coast rap producer, has remixed “Rather Be” in his own sparse, handclappy image. To make things even weirder, Mustard has been spending some time on the EDM touring circuit of late, and he’s incorporated farty dubstep bass-drops into his style. The result: A remix where everything seems to be happening at once, one that will not allow your brain to settle. Experience the madness below.
Clean Bandit’s album New Eyes is out now on Atlantic.
