The young Mississippi rap duo Rae Sremmurd, who should really consider changing their name, have already escaped the one-hit wonder trap. “No Type,” their recent single, is, if anything, a bigger deal than “No Flex Zone,” the song that brought them to the game. And last night, the duo was in the strange position of being thrown onstage with the Roots, a group whose conception of rap music seems pretty vastly removed from what Rae Sremmurd do. Still, everything came off nicely, and the Rae Sremmurd kids showed a ton of energy onstage. Awesomely ridiculous outfits, too — is that a bright orange Snuggie? Watch the performance below.
Rae Sremmurd’s debut album SremmLife is out 1/6 on Interscope.
