Mark McGuire sometimes records as the Road Chief, and that alias is responsible for the highly enjoyable holiday oddity “Our First Christmas.” It’s a cover of an obscure Alexander O’Neal song from 1986. McGuire retains the original’s chipper synthesized bounce, but the soulful vocals are swapped out for playful talkbox. Rachel Waterhouse contributes backing vocals, but otherwise it’s an all-McGuire production. Here’s a note from the man himself:
