Back in the late ’90s, the Prodigy managed the difficult task of translating the new and alien sounds of rave music into thundering stadium spectacle that we dumb American kids could understand. I saw them seven or eight years ago, the last time they were trying to sell that spectacle to Americans, and they were still a hell of a fun show. And later this year, the band will return with The Day Is My Enemy, their first new album in six years. First single “Nasty” is a fat, slobbering hunk of retro-big beat, and its video concerns the adventures of a superpowered fox who avoids an urban foxhunt. Check it out below.
The Day Is My Enemy is out 3/30 on Take Me To The Hospital/Cooking Vinyl.
