Late last year, the British soul singer Jessie Ware released her great sophomore album Tough Love and further proved that everything she does is worthy of your time. Here’s some more evidence to support that theory. During a recent visit to the BBC’s Live Lounge, Ware covered a song you might not know: “Jealous,” an elegiac 2014 ballad from the British singer-songwriter Labrinth. Ware’s version is warm and restrained, and it ends with a quick digression into Chaka Khan’s heart-ripping 1984 synth-soul classic “Through The Fire.” Watch Ware absolutely knock it out of the park below.
Tough Love is out now on PMR/Island/Interscope.
