If you’ve ever seen FKA Twigs do her thing live, you know that it’s pretty magical, oftentimes even better than what she put out on her terrific LP1. It’s pretty hard to capture the environment she creates during her live performances on video — take her debut Tonight Show performance from last year, which I thought was good but not great. But this video of her performance at last night’s Brit Awards 2015 nomination ceremony nails it. From the on-point editing where Twigs slowly dissolves into herself to the soft, fuzzy camera work, it really gets across what a captivating and fascinating live performer she is. Twigs sang her EP track “Hide” and snuck in a little bit of “Pendulum” at the end, and she was surrounded by backup dancers that were painted to look like snakes. It’s pretty great. Watch below.
Twigs was nominated for Best Solo Female Artist and Breakthrough Act. Check out all of the nominations here.
