LA-based duo Slutever will release their Almost Famous cassette in late February to follow up the split they put out with Girlpool last year. “Smother” is the first single we’ve heard from the six-song cassette, and if it’s any indication of what the rest of the tracks will sound like, then Almost Famous is going to be a total gut-punch. In just barely two minutes, Rachel Gagliardi and Nicole Snyder funnel their voices through layers of corrosive sound, burying us in their blithe but ever-so-subtly caustic universe. Listen below.
