Watch The Foo Fighters Play “Outside” In An Austin City Limits Web Exclusive (Stereogum Premiere)

Dave Grohl and his Foo Fighters spent most of last year promoting their eighth album Sonic Highways and the HBO show of the same name. In the process, the group visited eight U.S. cities that have been pivotal to the nation’s musical development (Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle, and Washington, D.C.) and explored a bit of local history in each. During their stop in Austin they made time for an appearance on Austin City Limits, opting to record in the original home of the show, KLRU’s Studio 6A.

Today we’re premiering their performance of “Outside,” a song from Sonic Highways that features the Eagles’ Joe Walsh on the album. It’s a web bonus and won’t be on the TV broadcast.

Some other clips and outtakes from the episode have already surfaced…
