The enterprising production team known as Future Brown is the result of four huge forces — Daniel Pineda and Asma Maroof of Nguzunguzu, J-Cush, and Fatima Al Qadiri — joining together. The team has cranked out a steady stream of lush, wiggly, hulking hip-hop creations, including last month’s “Room 302” and the intrepid “Talkin Bandz,” and “Vernáculo” before it. Those tracks will be featured on Future Brown’s self-titled debut album, due out on Warp later this month. In the meantime, the group has a new, energetic, expansive 23-song mix to get lost in. The appropriately named Future Brown Mix Vol. 1 brandishes glitchy, rubber-band beats and a stacked guest roster (including Migos, Ciara, Twista, and a slew of others) and is a tantalizing taste of the group’s ability to pump out music brimming with movement. Stream and download the mix at the group’s website now.
Future Brown is out 2/24 via Warp.
