This Week In Movie Trailers, You Guys

We only have four movie trailers today, which feels like a blessing. Thank you, trailer god, for this moment to catch our breath in what has been a long string of weeks overflowing with previews for movies that we certainly enjoy but that we feel overwhelmed by sometimes, as we are only trailer humans. Ty, ty, ty, g. LET’S GET TO ‘EM!

Parkland

Wow. A lot of historical stuff packed into that trailer! “And this person was there, and this person was there, and this person was there, and this person was there.” Hahah. I’M TRYING TO BRING SOME LEVITY TO A TRAILER THAT MADE ME FEEL BAD. This could be good, if it turns out to be more than a parade of famous people in historic roles. I do love all of the famous people, though! (Except: Zac Efron? Was FRED busy?) (JK.) (I know Fred hasn’t yet transitioned into serious roles.)

The Book Thief

More like the Academy Award thief! #mylaugh This looks like it had the potential to be very good (which makes sense, as lots of people really like Markus Zusak’s The Book Thief), but that it might be ruined by an excess of sugary sugar-polish and heavy-handedness. Though, who knows. We’ll see! Either we’ll see or we won’t, depending on whether or not we see the movie!

Blue Is the Warmest Color

This is the Palme d’Or winner that everyone lost their shit over at Cannes, and I can’t wait to see it! Even though there aren’t any subtitles with this trailer, so I don’t know what anyone is saying! Though you can pretty much get the gist!

The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete

Whether or not this turns out to be good — reviews have been mixed — Skylan Brooks and Ethan Dizon look like they will be a joy to watch. That seems good enough to me!
