How I Invented The Bubble Wrap Bike

“I was hoping you’d ask. You know, it began with a simple question: ‘How can I make myself happier?’ Happiness can be elusive, which anyone can tell from the number of products and lifestyles that are advertised as being steps to attaining it. ‘Do this juice cleanse and you’ll be healthier and happier.’ ‘Take this trip, you’ll finally feel like life is worth it.’ ‘Buy this necklace, it’ll make you feel good,’ or whatever. I don’t know, I’m bad at coming up with things like this on the spot, but I think you get what I’m saying. Sometimes I like to think about what it would be like to approach Earth as an emotionless alien and try to wrap my mind around ‘happiness’ and the endless struggle for it. Wouldn’t that be strange? Ah, but that’s just me! And I’m getting sidetracked. So, the bike: I wanted to make myself happier and I thought, ‘What makes people happy?’ And then it hit me: Having a girlfriend, or at least having a bunch of girls who are super into you. And I thought, ‘What makes people get girlfriends or girls who are super into him?’ And I answered myself, ‘Having the coolest shit.’ So that’s it, basically. I just wanted the coolest shit and what I came up with is a bike that lets you ride around on a stream of bubble wrap. So, yeah.”
