The Million Second Quiz Is The Natural Next Step In Reality Game Show Social Media Surveillance Torture

“People love trivia. People hate privacy. People love play-at-homes. People love when other people don’t get to sleep because they signed up for a ridiculous TV gameshow that apparently keeps them awake for days in order to answer trivia questions, which only sounds like tortue. People love gigantic structures. People love stuff that seems like an April Fool’s prank that they’re kind of hesitant about even talking about because, uh, is it a prank? People love, ugh, I DON’T KNOW, AREN’T YOU CONVINCED?!” Scene. From TV Guide:

The competition will center on contestants as they battle each other over trivia questions for 12 consecutive days and nights. The show will exist online, as well as on live primetime episodes that will take place from a “gigantic hourglass-shaped structure” somewhere in Manhattan. It’s there that the four players who have remained in the game the longest will actually live and continue to play — 24 hours a day, or risk being eliminated from the primetime show.

“The Million Second Quiz is a genre-redefining spectacle,” he says. “It embraces technology’s ability to allow everyone in America to actively participate and compete in a way that has never been done.”

Viewers will be able to play along at home and win a chance at appearing on the primetime show. Local NBC stations will also sync to the game, live throughout the day.

“We’ve hired Nathan Fielder as a consultant and we think it’s working out very well.” Hahah. THAT IS AN ANNOYING REFERENCE TO MAKE, BUT IT IS WARRANTED AND PLZ GET OFF MY BACK! But, uh, is this a prank? I’ll keep asking until I get an answer! I don’t understand how this is supposed to work. They see who can stay awake and answer questions the longest, and then whoever does gets to go in the structure and…answer more questions and stay awake?! Does it matter if they get the questions right or wrong? Why would sleepy people answering questions for hours be fun to watch? Is there one primetime episode or multiple?!
