Last night, Rebel Wilson was given the honor of hosting the MTV Movie Awards, the most star-studded evening of movie trailer premieres and nonsense awards, some of which actually just do not make any sense, on television! Hooray for Rebel Wilson! I actually watched a fair amount of the awards on television last night, because I don’t need to give you a reason, how dare you judge me, and boy oh boy was it strange! It was both surprising how many celebs were there, and how many celebs were not? Like, Jennifer Lawrence was not there and the whole night was basically sponsored by Hunger Games AND she and Bradley Cooper won best kiss. Bradley was left with no one to kiss except for his lonely, stupid bag of popcorn garbage trophy! WE WANNA SEE A HOT HOT KISS, JENNIFER! JK. Jennifer, you did the right thing. Oh, and after doing some research just now, I’ve found that she ALSO won “Best Female Performance,” which wasn’t announced during the broadcast. I’m sure it’s still an honor. The big event of the night was that Aubrey Plaza ran onstage while Will Ferrell was accepting his “Comedic Genius” award (sure) and half-heartedly tried to take his trophy away. MTV claims that this was not staged and that Aubrey Plaza was removed immediately afterwards, but if it was not staged why was Aurbey Plaza seated with a bunch of nobodies in the first row, right in front of the steps? DO YOU THINK WE WERE BORN YESTERDAY, MTV? YOU WILL NOT BRUNO-EMINEM US AGAIN! Uhhh, what else. When Kerry Washington presented Jamie Foxx with his “The Generation Award” award (sure), they cut to a shot of him as he took gum out of his mouth. Hahah. Great awards show, A+. Aubrey Plaza gag + full list of the handful of winners after the jump.
