There have been a few live-action adaptations of The Jungle Book in the past, but I only know that because I saw it on Wikipedia, and I doubt that any of us have seen any of those. Have you seen any of them? Are they garbage? They SEEM like garbage. I’m not saying that they ARE garbage, because who knows, but they certainly seem like it from what I can tell. So this live-action version that you’re moments away from reading about is barely even anything to be annoyed by. Who cares! We liked the cartoon version, right? So let’s do it! Live action The Jungle Book, YEAH! From Variety:
“Harry Potter” scribe Steve Kloves is in early talks to write, direct and produce a live-action take on “The Jungle Book” for Warner Bros.
Pic will be based on Rudyard Kipling’s classic novel about an orphaned boy who is raised by animals that protect him from a ferocious tiger who rules the jungle. Book is currently in the public domain.
Kloves wrote every film in the WB’s eight-pic “Harry Potter” franchise, and he also worked on the script for the studio’s long-gestating pic “Akira,” as well as Sony’s summer tentpole “The Amazing Spider-Man.” Helmer made his directorial debut with 1989’s “The Fabulous Baker Boys” before going on to direct the 1993 pic “Flesh and Bone.”
Great, I’m sure it will be fine. Obviously Baloo is going to be James Gandolfini in a bear costume, but WHO SHOULD BE CAST AS MOWGLI? Every child’s dream friend? What an exciting role. My thoughts are that it should either be Andy Milonakis or Willow Smith because they would each be exciting and challenging choices, but who do you think? One of the One Direction boys, probably? Ugh. Is that was you think? YOU CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT!
