Here Are Some Afternoon Links!

  • Happy holidays! Here is a scary video of a woman with cat face paint and a Santa hat on, meowing! -TheDailyWhat
  • Marc Maron, of the WTF Podcast, was on Conan last night. I don’t think I need to say anything more about it. Right? Do you like him? I assume you do! If you do, you should watch it! -TeamCoCo
  • Similarly, Louis CK was on Late Night last night! He talked a lot about the money he got from his standup special, which is news that I have zero interest in hearing about, but then he talked about the charities he’s giving some of it to and it was very funny. You win again, Louis CK! -LateNight
  • Oh, and if we can get back to Marc Maron for a moment, Michael Ian Black is featured in the most recent episode of the WTF podcast. He’s great! He’s really great. Here it is, if you want to listen to it. -WTF
  • OH, and if we can go back to Late Night for a second (lolol), Stereogum has put together a list of the ten best Late Night performances of 2011. They are all very good! Good job, Stereogum! Also here is a fun fact: I was there for the Dismemberment Plan taping because I love that band and guess who else was there? Fred Armison and Carrie Brownstein! It was just the best. -Stereogum
  • Vulture put together a supercut of people quitting their jobs in movies and, as PopCultureBrian also pointed out, they did not use the scene from That Thing You Do where the singer sings “I quit, I quit, I quit, Mr. White.” That’s the best one! WHAT’S THE DEAL? -Vulture
  • Here is Gwar reviewing War Horse. Of course. Remember the Gwar part of Empire Records? “Hey Marc! You love Gwar, why don’t you join the band?” Hah. Great. -FilmDrunk
  • Matt Damon had some harsh things to say about Obama in an interview with Elle. Harsh but fair. “That’s way harsh, Matt.” -Obama. Ugh, this has been a very weird list. -Dlisted
