Yesterday, May 22nd, marked the end of the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. Awww. I feel like the 2011 Cannes Film Festival just started! Can’t we have just one more day of 2011 Cannes Film Festival? If we can’t have just one more day of 2011 Cannes Film Festival I am NOT getting out of bed or eating anything or even BREATHING. I want more of it!!!!
The thing about the 2011 Cannes Film Festival was Kirsten Dunst, I feel like. It seems like the way that Kirsten Dunst sat next to Lars Von Trier and reacted was really the only thing that seeped from the cares-about-cannes-film-festival online magazines of the world into the mainstream cares-about-nothing google readers of the world. Meaning, like, I don’t know a lot of other things that went on there. People won awards? People definitely won awards at the end of the festival. People like Kirsten Dunst, who won Best Actress. Good job, Kirsten Dunst!
But yeah, lots of movies that I’m sure are great or at least nice to look at won awards at the end, and lots of celebrities that I’m sure are great or at least nice to look at got to live their celebrity lifestyles in Cannes for a week and a half. And everyone got to see lots of movies the whole time. And Robert De Niro was President of the Jury. “Cool.”
Full list of festival winners that you don’t care about after the jump. Also, a beautiful (very beautiful) photo gallery featuring many of our old pals!
