Barack Obama On The Daily Show With Jon Stewart

The President of the United States, Barack Obama, appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart last night for a lengthy three-part interview. It’s still kind of weird, isn’t it? What I mean is, we’re at the point now where The Daily Show has been around forever, and Jon Stewart has been on the cover of Most Important Guy Magazine three times, or whatever, and YET, it is still weird when the sitting president of the United States of America appears on the show as a guest. Y/Y? Also, the interview is kind of depressing. Not because of any of the content. It is a completely genial conversation that glosses over pretty important issues with gentle humor and broad-spoken ideas that are easy to digest. In a word: it is exactly what you would expect from a half hour of Jon Stewart talking to Barack Obama. But, like, the needle is at rest, you know? That thing don’t move! It just doesn’t matter. We’re in such a fractured, angry, fearful, jobless, Christine O’Donnell mess. There’s nobody watching the Daily Show whose mind just changed and there’s nobody tuning into the Daily Show that doesn’t normally watch in order to see if the President clarifies some of the message he has supposedly (if you are to believe the LIBERAL MEDIA ELITE) had so much trouble clarifying to the American people. It’s depressing in that it’s a half hour (semi) candid interview with the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES and it DOESN’T FUCKING MATTER. Head stomp head stomp head stomp.

That being said, you can still watch it:

Part Three:

*Shrug*.
