There are few people in history more remarkable and inspiring than Martin Luther King Jr., both for his courage in the face of violent persecution, and his message of hope, tolerance, love, and freedom. Out of the many secular holidays that America celebrates, Martin Luther King Day is easily the one for which we should be most proud. Obviously, racism continues to be a tragic problem, both here and on Pandora, and no amount of suspending mail delivery will ever change that. The road to equality is not paved with bank holidays. Nevertheless, our token national attempts to recognize genuine heroes as we strive to better ourselves are still noble. We all owe Dr. King a debt of gratitude, and if it requires a federally mandated holiday in order to be reminded of that fact once a year, fair enough. We are not perfect.
Speaking of not being perfect, this video is fucking nuts.
I continue to have no idea what is going on here, but I still think that racism is wrong and that America’s history is soiled with the blood of the innocent. R.I.P. Martin Luther King Jr.! Shame on you, Internet!
